Now Hiring: Web Developer
[PLEASE NOTE: This position is NOT open to off-site/telecommuting. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY]
Design Commission, an interactive design studio in Pioneer Square is seeking qualified candidates for a Web Developer Position. The gig would be contract-to-hire, starting with a one-month contract followed by an offer for a permanent position if the fit was right. Here are the specifics of what we’re looking for:
REQUIREMENTS
- PHP5 Candidate should be a top-notch PHP5 developer, familiar with the latest features in PHP 5.2.X and 5.3.X.
- MySQL Modern database development expertise
- Familiarity with WordPress and Drupal
- Expert hands-on knowledge of XHTML/CSS
- Experience translating comps and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates
- Javascript/AJAX Expert level Javascript/XHTML/CSS development will be necessary. jQuery experience preferred.
- Flash development experience (ActionScript 3)
- Ability to work on-site at our Pioneer Square, Seattle office (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY)
- Integration support for third-party service providers and affiliates
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Identify software tools that will allow staff to do their jobs effectively
- Proficiency with cross-browser, cross-platform issues, and W3C Web standards
- Experience developing services-based Websites
- Experience with source code control systems. Subversion or git preferred
BIG PLUSES
- Ecommerce experience a plus
- Understanding of layered architecture, MVC and other design patterns and frameworks
- Strong experience with object-oriented design & implementation
- Modify back end code in Ruby on Rails
Ability to install and administer a basic LAMP stack including:
- running offsite backups
- Cron Jobs
- User management
- Service setup and basic security
- basic hardware maintenance and networking
